Kidambi Srikanth is an Indian professional badminton player. He was born on February 7, 1993, in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India. Srikanth started playing badminton young and joined the national team in 2011. He rose to prominence in 2014 with many successful performances, including winning the China Open Super Series Premier and reaching the quarterfinals of the World Championships. In 2017, Srikanth became the first Indian male to reach the top of the BWF World Rankings, and he has won several major international titles, including the 2018 Commonwealth Games Men's Singles gold medal. He is known for his powerful smashes and strong net play.
